You'll notice a lot of discrepencies in the prologue in relation to the whole Jungle Janet/Adventure Island timeline/cosmology/ bruhaha: South American jungle, a US Gov't agent, various and sundry other etceteras. This was done in 1994, before there even was an Adventure Island; I was really just getting a handle on JJ and her support players around this time. Today, we'll just have to explain it off by saying we learned of this adventure via a very poor shortwave radio transmission, and certain details were lost or confused in the transcript. Anyway, that's what I'm going with now.

A great old friend of mine introduced me to "Messy Fun Video" in the early 1990s via an ad clipped from a photography magazine; this was well before the internet became the center of the universe, and much business was still conducted via the mail. That's how I connected with Rob Blaine, the owner/operator/founder of Messy Fun, and the Godfather of the American WaM fetish producers. I recieved my first videotape(!) purchase (and how many "old schoolers" out there remember "Messy Fun #1", w/Shaun & Ariel and the Mud Bog to end all mud bogs? Blaine never really did top this one), and also a couple of copies of this advert/newsletter he printed up, "Messy News". I noticed right away a couple of the issues featured a single panel cartoon; well, hello! I said, I draw single panel cartoons...Perhaps I could send him some of mine! And I did, and he liked them. He didn't like to write letters, so we talked on the phone, quite a lot. We talked enough that I managed to talk him into doing a wet-and-messy comic book...
